This stretch of skyline from 4th Street to 13th Street, between Broadway Avenue and I-235, has been the entryway to the downtown business district since its initial development in the 1920s. It’s full of interesting people and places and it’s rich with history and charm. And it’s come a long way since those early days of car dealerships and mechanics shops. With a wealth of one-of-a-kind restaurants, nightlife and mom-and-pop retail shops, Automobile Alley is on the rise, with more to offer than ever.
Beginning Thursday, September 19th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, and continuing on the third Thursday of each month, Automobile Alley will host a Shop Hop — a family-friendly night of dining, shopping and entertainment in the tradition of Automobile Alley’s fast-paced, friendly legacy. Businesses throughout the district will keep their doors open late and offer special promotions, events and discounts so you can hop from shop to shop and enjoy it all.
We welcome you to stop by and see what special events and deals we have for you here in the shop! This month, our friends at Mariposa Coffee will be joining us to serve free coffee cocktails and snacks. (A coffee cocktail = locally roasted coffee + liquor. Yum, right?) Plus we’ll have some great one-night-only discounts on products throughout the store, including some of our beloved vintage display pieces that we’re ready to find new homes for.

We’re always dreaming of more patio time — lounging streetside in the shade of an umbrella with a good book and a cup of coffee, the bustle of the city all around. But that kind of green, community-friendly space is hard to scout out in the sea of urban concrete and asphalt.
(PARK)ing Day is a one-day event, led by Better Block OKC, that’s designed to help our local neighborhoods start a conversation about how to make our shared space — namely parking spaces — greener, more attractive and more welcoming to community activity. Shop Good + Automobile Alley will be joining 6 other districts around the city in creating a pop-up “parklet” — a mini-park that will temporarily overtake a single parallel parking space — on this Friday, September 20th. Located just in front of Plenty Mercantile (on Broadway just north of 7th St), the parklet will be open to the public from 8am – 7pm, with picnic table seating perfect for eating, drinking, reading, working or playing board games. So come enjoy a little peace and sunshine in the heart of the city, and dream with us about how we can continue to make OKC a healthy and happy place to call home.
