We’ve teamed up with PACT — the makers of our revolutionary organic cotton socks & undies for a cause — Whole Kids Foundation and Indiegogo to build a sustainable urban garden here in Oklahoma City that will provide increased access to healthy food and empower adults and children to actively experience how food is grown — from seed to plate.
Our urban garden is already growing at Crutcho Public School, a K-8 school on the east side of Oklahoma City that serves close to 300 children. The garden is small — just 4 raised beds and a small hoophouse (a homemade greenhouse) — but through the efforts of Crutcho staff, the garden produced it’s first crop last summer: tomatoes, basil, melons and peppers. With plans for expansion and hands-on student education through a partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma’s Urban Harvest program, the Crutcho School garden is poised to become an important community tool for connecting parents and kids to real food and encouraging a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
So this is where you come in! We’re raising $2500 by February 28th to help provide the students and teachers at Crutcho School with all the tools they need to see their garden grow into a vibrant community resource. And we’re asking you to join us by making a donation, as little as $10, to our campaign on their behalf!
You’ll be rewarded for your contribution with some super-comfy, eco-friendly goodies from PACT Apparel, plus you can feel good knowing that your financial gift to the Crutcho School garden is going to be supported by ongoing resources from Whole Kids Foundation — like organic seeds and online garden planning tools — and educational activities through RFBO’s Urban Harvest program..
So check out our Crutcho School garden campaign and help change take root in our community by making a contribution today!
